Il était considéré comme une variété de vigne disparue du vignoble bisontin. Des prospections menées en 2022 ont permis de localiser un pied de ce cépage. Une analyse génétique a permis de l’identifier comme étant la Dureza, vieux cépage typique des Côtes-Du-Rhône septentrionales. C’est la première fois que ce cépage est signalé en Franche-Comté. Cet article propose une relecture des sources qui évoquent le(s) Bregin(s) et les hypothèses les plus plausibles concernant son identification (cépages Dureza, Tressot et Enfariné) et son introduction dans le vignoble bisontin. Bregin is considered as the emblematic grapevine variety of the city of Besançon since the 16th century. It was believed to have disappeared from the vineyards of Besançon. Specific research has enabled to locate a single vine of this grape variety. Genetic analysis identified it as Dureza, an old grape variety typical of the northern Côtes-Du-Rhône. This is the first time that this grape variety has been reported in Franche-Comté. This article proposes a reinterpretation of sources that mention the Bregin(s) varieties and the most plausible hypotheses regarding its identification (Dureza, Tressot and Enfariné grape varieties).
