L’histoire de la traduction chinoise de la terminologie féministe est aussi l’histoire de la réception et de l’évolution du féminisme en Chine, un processus long et complexe de localisation. Ce texte étudie principalement la traduction et la sinisation des termes anglais feminism, gender et patriarchy. During the first encounter between Chinese and Western cultures in the early 20th century, Chinese progressives and feminists brought Western feminist thinking and terminology into China. The history of the Chinese translation of feminist terminology is also the history of the reception and evolution of feminism in China as well as a long and complex process of localization. Lorsque celui‑ci est essentiellement contextuel, référentiel et codé, comme il l’est dans la littérature de l’ex‑Allemagne de l’Est, sa traduction s’apparente à un défi. À partir de l’exemple représentatif du Hinze‑Kunze‑Roman de Volker Braun sont considérées les difficultés de traduire un tel humour éminemment politique, voire sa résistance totale à cette épreuve, ainsi que les différentes significations que peut revêtir alors une traduction. Translating humour is difficult. When it is essentially contextual, referential and encrypted, as it is in GDR literature, its translation represents a real challenge. Using the representative example of the Hinze‑Kunze‑Roman by Volker Braun, this paper considers the difficulties to translate such a political humour, if not the absolute impossibility to do it, as well as the different meanings a translation can adopt then. Humor zu übersetzen ist schwierig. Wenn dieser im Wesentlichen kontextuell, referentiell und verschlüsselt ist, wie es in der DDR‑Literatur der Fall ist, grenzt die Übersetzung an Herausforderung.
