Il s’agira de s’intéresser de près à sa mise en place, en observant, à travers les ressorts davantage affectifs qu’intellectuels qui la sous-tendent, son lien à une forme d’hystérisation, mais aussi de voir comment elle a marqué durablement les approches théoriques relevant du réalisme magique. The European expression of “magical realism” (1925) was rivaled by the expression of “real maravilloso”, defined by Alejo Carpentier (1949). Behind this change in terminology lies a whole rhetorical strategy, intended to link the notion to American territory at the expense of Europe. We will look closely at its implementation, observing its link to a form of hysterization, through the emotional rather than intellectual springs that underlie it.
