Il remonte une généalogie de la notion, prenant en compte quelques étapes de la « Querelle des femmes », depuis Christine de Pizan et en se consacrant surtout à la relation entre Madeleine et Catherine des Roches. Dans leurs échanges, se constitue une première forme de sororité, à travers un encouragement à l’écriture et l’invention d’un rapport aux lectrices. The article offers a general synthesis of the fertile anachronism of using the word “sisterhood” for 16th century women authors. He traces the genealogy of the concept, taking into account several stages of the “Querelle des femmes” (women’s quarrel), starting with Christine de Pizan and focusing primarily on the relationship between Madeleine and Catherine des Roches. Their exchanges gave rise to an early form of sisterhood, through encouragement to write and the invention of a relationship with female readers.
