En tant que verbe, il présente différents profils syntactico-sémantiques suivant les caractéristiques valentielles mises en lumière par Tesnière et ses continuateurs. Il apparaît de façon proéminente dans le recueil de poèmes Black-Label de Léon-Gontran Damas, sous la forme d’un noyau rythmique aux propriétés syntactico-sémantiques protéiformes pour charpenter la trame discursive, la structure prosodique, thématique et sémantique de tout le recueil. Le but du présent article est d’analyser les fonctions stylistiques et poétiques de cette structure infinitivale itérative en s’interrogeant sur ce que ce fonctionnement peut signifier par rapport aux caractéristiques habituelles de l’infinitif en termes morpho-syntaxique, sémantique et pragmatique. The infinitive is formerly considered in the french temporal verbal system as an impersonal, hybrid mode having at the same time morpho-syntactic features of the verb and the noun. As a verb, it presents various syntactic and semantic outlines according to the valence characteristics highlighted by Tesnière and his followers. It is clearly seen in Black-Label, poem book of Léon-Gontran Damas, like a rhythmic core to morphosyntactical protean properties in order to build the discursive waving, prosodic structure, thematic and semantics of the whole collection. This current article aims to analyze the stylistic and poetic functions of this iterative structure infinitival by pondering what it may mean working from the usual characteristics of the infinitive in terms morpho-syntactic, semantic and pragmatic.
