De Joséphine Baker à Omar Sy, 2016), se font-ils les porteurs d’une identité corse au niveau local et sous quelles modalités sociologiques, historiques et cinématographiques ? Et plus largement, comment le Noir comme personnage principal en tant que « construction imaginaire et culturelle » rend-il visible les masques corses et permet-il de révéler un processus de refoulement mémoriel postcolonial ? Mon approche part du constat que ce livre, malgré son apparente facilité, est une œuvre complexe, ouverte, et non dépourvue d’ambiguïtés. Comme récit de voyage et rencontre interculturelle, il met en évidence toute une série de problèmes qui possèdent une grande profondeur historique, en même temps qu’une actualité parfois brûlante. En examinant l’appartenance du texte au genre viatique, en interrogeant son inscription dans la problématique de l’orientalisme, en décrivant ses liens avec les autres œuvres de l’auteur, il s’agira d’entreprendre une redéfinition des Voix de Marrakech comme réseau mémoriel transculturel. This paper aims at proposing a new reading of a text that was long considered marginal within the works of Canetti. My approach is based on the observation that this book, despite its apparent simplicity, is a complex, open, and even ambiguous work. As a travelogue and an intercultural encounter, the novel is touching upon a wide range of issues that have great historical depth while at the same time being of great topical concern.
