Published in 2018, the novel ‘Las fiebres de la memoria’, by the nicaraguan novelist and poet Gioconda Belli, marks Belli’s return to her position as a female writer at the heart of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, SNLF, a political-military organization that overthrew Anastacio Somoza's dictatorship in 1979, reclaiming certain omnipresent themes on the whole of her poetic and narrative corpus such as the metamorphosis of identity, feminism, subversion/celebration of the private parts of the body, the politicization of motherhood as well as the feminization of politics.
