Cet article nous invite à découvrir deux pièces de ce théâtre d'urgence, La Conquista de Madrid, de César M. Arconada, et Sombras de héroes, de Germán Bleiberg, des œuvres pleinement représentatives du théâtre de guerre — ce théâtre politique proche de l'Agit-prop, écrit dans l'urgence du combat —, mais qui font aussi entendre une voix différente et poétique. Elle montre que propagande et renouveau ne sont pas (nécessairement) antagoniques. After years of drowsiness and lethargy, the theatre was going to play quite an important role during the Spanish civil war; it found a new vigor and had the opportunity to create an original repertoire while trying to reconquer a popular audience. In this article we shall discover two of these plays, La Conquista de Madrid by César M. Arconada, and Sombras de héroes by Germán Bleiberg which are both highly representative of war theatre − this political theatre close to Agit-prop, written in the haste of the struggle − and also offering a different and poetical voice, showing that propaganda and revival are not (necessarily) antagonistic.
