En retraçant la fuite du personnage principal qui l’a porté pendant plusieurs années vers les marges de l’Europe, le récit dessine en effet le parcours sinueux d’une voix erratique prise dans un double mouvement d’expropriation et d’ouverture à l’Autre. L’« abdication » de l’Auteur ainsi dépossédé de son auctorialité au début de son voyage, alors qu’il se trouve en Espagne, débouche sur une expérience libératrice. L’extraterritorialité de la péniche sur laquelle il vit et accueille ses invités pour leur relater son voyage caractérise également la voix narrative qui, prise dans ce mouvement immobile, devient le lieu du partage du Dire, de l’avènement à la parole de toutes ces voix tues, autres et clandestines qu’il recueille pour fonder une nouvelle forme de communauté. Le lecteur assiste donc, à mesure que le récit progresse, au devenir clandestin de l’auteur qui devient la seule forme possible de ce nouvel art de raconter handkéen. From the novel Die morawische Nacht (The Moravian Night) we will study the new forms of Handkean authorship by focusing more particularly on the trajectory of the narrative voice as well as the device that results from it. By retracing the travel of the main character who carried him for several years towards the margins of Europe, the story indeed draws the sinuous path of an erratic voice caught in a double movement of expropriation and openness to Other. The “abdication” of the Author thus dispossessed of his authorship at the beginning of his journey while he was in Spain then leads to a liberating experience. The extraterritoriality of the barge on which he lives and welcomes his guests to tell them about his journey also characterizes the narrative voice which, caught up in this motionless movement, becomes the place of sharing the Saying, of the advent to the word of all these silent, other and clandestine voices that he collects to find a new form of community.
