In his novel “Der einzige Ort” (2004), the Austrian contemporary author Thomas Stangl attaches value to the dichotomies of “here and there” as well as “oneself and the other”, with an approach of Deconstructivism and Postcolionalism.The space as a literary motif and as a poetological category is a central point because it allows the author to outline a radical change of identity, which has its origins in the new interactions between the subject and its original strange part.At the same time, Stangl creates out of his narrative act a complex topography which is also open to an ‘elsewhere’.
