Au lieu de limiter l'étude aux grands partis britanniques (le Parti conservateur et le Parti travailliste) ou aux grands partis de la République d'Irlande (Fianna Fáil et Fine Gael), le numéro adopte une approche archipélagique, tout en se concentrant sur un très large éventail de partis : les partis de gouvernement et les partis d'opposition ; dans la catégorie des partis de gouvernement, les partis qui gouvernent à la fois au niveau de l'État et au niveau sub-étatique ; les partis au niveau de l'État et les branches locales ou sub-étatiques de ces partis ; et enfin, un parti (Sinn Féin) qui existe dans les deux États concernés. Ce numéro propose donc une analyse comparative des succès et des échecs actuels des partis politiques en Écosse, en Irlande (République et Irlande du Nord), au pays de Galles et en Angleterre. This issue 18.2 of the journal Textes et Contextes aims to confirm or refute the validity of the thesis of a 'crisis of political parties' by looking at the study of political parties across the British and Irish Isles. Ce volume explore des trajectoires individuelles, liées autant aux déplacements entre classes sociales, entre milieux sociaux et culturels qu’aux changements de rôles entre espaces de la vie quotidienne. L’entre-deux oblige chacun à composer entre le singulier et le collectif, entre le monde du départ et celui de l’arrivée. Il apparaît également dans le mode de narration (notamment dans le récit biographique, la poésie), ou dans les représentations visuelles (héros des séries, formes hybrides d’abstraction). Ce volume contient également des analyses au niveau des sociétés, façonnées par les mémoires de tensions passées, de rapports de domination, de colonisations, de guerres, autant que par le présent, constitué par les intérêts, les rapports de force, et les acteurs les représentant. L’entre-deux peut alors inciter à l’action, engendrer des revendications autonomistes voire indépendantistes. Il s’exprime aussi par la langue qui véhicule une mémoire culturelle et se construit sur des réalités sociales. Les interactions entre zones de contact, géographiques ou sociales, produisent des recompositions. Ces différents sujets sont abordés de manière transdisciplinaire et transfrontalière. The in-between, a space delimited by two things, contains an opening, a distance of variable length, which leads to recompositions and mutations in individual and collective representations. This volume explores some individual trajectories, linked both to movements between social classes as well as social and cultural environments, and to changes in roles between spaces in everyday life. The "in-between" forces every individual to negotiate between the singular and the collective, between the world that one leaves and the world that one enters. It also appears in narrative modes (notably in biographical narratives and poetry), and in visual representations (serial heroes, hybrid forms of abstraction). This volume also contains analyses of societies, shaped by memories of past tensions, relationships of domination, colonization and wars, as much as by the present, constituted by interests, balances of power and by the actors representing them. The in-between can then prompt action, giving rise to demands for autonomy or even independence. It is also expressed through language, which conveys a cultural memory and is built on social realities. Interactions between geographical and social contact zones produce recompositions.
