Revue d’études culturelles is an annual journal available in print and digital format, founded in 2005 by Antonio Dominguez Leiva and Sébastien Hubier. It is an interdisciplinary journal, each issue bringing together researchers in the humanities and social sciences to discuss a particular cultural theme or issue. While seeking to address a broad artistic field, the journal places cultural studies in the center of its approach, insofar as they enable us to consider the place of the arts in society, and conversely to understand political and social phenomena through conflicts within artistic fields. One of the key elements of cultural studies is the need to confront mass culture, popular culture and the culture of the elite. Without restricting itself to any one period, discipline or geographical area, and while favoring cross-fertilisation, the journal seeks to explore ways in which heterogeneous works come together in order to challenge pre-established hierarchies and shift the lines of force in the cultural field.
Revue d’études culturelles is published by the Association Bourguignonne d’études linguistiques et littéraires (ABELL), based in France. It is published with the support of the Maison des Sciences Sociales et des Humanités (MSH de Dijon – UAR 3516 CNRS, UBE).
The journal main language is French.
